Taste of Georgia
A private tour starts from the capital of Georgia – Tbilisi. In a 7-day time period tour covers 4 regions of Georgia and numerous different highlights: Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Gori city tours, 4 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ancient cave complexes of Uplistsikhe and Vardzia, museum of Joseph Stalin, natural wonders of Prometheus Cave and Okatse Canyon, Borjomi National Park, and medieval Rabati Castle in Akhaltsikhe.
After breakfast at the hotel we start driving to the old capital of Iberia Kingdom – Mtskheta town.
In Mtskheta we are going to pay a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, built in the 11th c., and Jvari Monastery, built in the 6th c.
From Mtskheta we arrive at Gori and visit museum of Joseph Stalin. Museum retains Soviet-era architectural style and consists of Stalin’s memorial house and personal room with belongings.
From Gori we drive towards Uplistsikhe. Uplistsikhe is an ancient cave complex that is considered as the oldest urban settlement discovered on the territory of present day Georgia.
Our tour continues to western Georgia. We arrive in the third largest city of Georgia – Kutaisi. We are going to one of the main attractions of the city – Gelati Academy and Monastery, built in the 12th century, during the Georgian Golden Age.
Overnight in Kutaisi.
After breakfast at the hotel, we are going to visit another monument in Kutaisi that is listed among the world heritage sites by UNESCO – Bagrati cathedral. Built in the 11th c., cathedral is located in the city center on top of the hill, overlooking Kutaisi. Cathedral presents a masterpiece of Georgian church architecture and is considered as a symbol of the city.
From Kutaisi we drive to Prometheus cave – to explore one of the most popular and longest caves in the region, full of various types of stalactites, stalagmites, cave pearls, underground rivers, waterfalls and lakes.
From Prometheus we head to the Okatse Canyon. The canyon runs roughly for 14 kilometers, with width from 3-6 to 15-20 meters, while its depth is between 20-100 meters.
Afterwards we drive back to Kutaisi.

After breakfast at the hotel we drive to the Borjomi spa-resort and take a walk in the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, where we can taste famous mineral spring water.
On day 4 tour continues to Akhaltsikhe town, administrative center of Samtskhe-Javakheti province. Here, we are going to pay a visit to main attraction of Akhaltsikhe town – Rabati Castle, dating back to the 14th century. The complex includes a castle, public area, administrative building, museum, church, mosque and remains of a madrasa (Islamic educational institution).
Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.
On day 5 we visit Vardzia cave monastery near Akhaltsikhe. After breakfast we drive along the river Mtkvari.
On our way we are going to make a short stop at the ancient Khertvisi fortress.
We continue our way until we get to the rock-hewn Vardzia. Vardzia is a cave-monastery, which consists of approximately 600 rooms located in five, six, seven and sometimes twelve tiers. Vardzia has residential caves, spring, churches, refectories, bakeries, wine presses, stables, barracks and stores, secret tunnels, internal corridors and chapels. Complex was built in the 12th century, under the rule of queen Tamar of Georgia.
In the evening we drive back to Tbilisi.

On day 6 we make a Tbilisi sightseeing tour.
After breakfast we start from Mtatsminda Park - the highest point of the city. It is possible to get on the mountain by the funicular cable.
On our way walk back to the city we are going to pass by the Mtatsminda Pantheon.
We continue our way downhill and get to the Rustaveli Avenue. Here we can visit the Georgian National Museum. Georgian National Museum has numerous important and unique collections and exhibitions e.g. the collection of treasures, which features gold and silver artifacts from the pre-Christian period.
From museum we continue to the old city to visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi and Metekhi Church on the left bank of Mtkvari River, and the ancient Narikala Fortress on the hill overlooking the city. From Narikala we walk down the Legvtakhevi canyon, pass the Sulfur bathhouse district and enter the old Tbilisi district. Here, on the streets of Shardeni and Erekle II we can visit outdoor cafes, bars, souvenir shops and art-galleries, have a walk on the glass Bridge of Peace and Dry Bridge over river Mtkvari.
Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Tbilisi International Airport. Departure. End of service.
