Winter tour to High Caucasus Mountains of Georgia is unforgettable experience for nature lovers. Visit Kazbegi National Park, Ski resort Gudauri and important cultural monuments along the Georgian Military highway in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region.
The tour includes 2 overnights in the Great Caucasus Mountains and 2 overnights in the capital city Tbilisi. Ancient capital town Mtskheta (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Svetitskoveli and Jvari, Ananuri Architectural Complex, Zhinvali Reservoir, Jvari Pass and mountainous region of Khevi are included in tour itinerary.

Georgian Holidays' travel agent will meet you at the arrival hall of Tbilisi international airport. After greeting, transfer to Tbilisi hotel, check in assistance will be provided.

First stop is 19 km away from the capital. UNESCO World Heritage Site Jvari Monastery (6th c.) is overlooking the area from the hilltop. Look around, feel the calmness of Kartli mountains and enjoy the panorama of two valleys: Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers.
Drive to Mtskheta – the capital of the former kingdom of Iberia in the Eastern Georgia and visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the architectural masterpiece of the 11th c. Walk around the historic district, drink coffee prepared on the hot sends and continue along the Georgian Military Highway.
On the way stop at the Zhinvali Reservoir and visit Ananuri Fortress, built in the 16th 17th c.c. Ananuri stronghold consists of the fortress, two churches and residential building of Aragvi Eristavi dukes. The sightseeing will take about 30 minutes.
In the evening arrive to Gudauri ski resort (2196 m asl).

Breakfast. Full-day tour to the Great Caucasus Mountains: A trip to the Kazbegi National Park, several stops along the way: a colorful observation deck called the Monument of Peace, Jvari Pass (level 2395 m) - the highest point of the road, a pinkish limestone travertines, deposited around the frozen bubbling mineral water springs, sometimes invisible under thick snow cover.
Arrive in Stehantsminda townlet, the central settlement of Kazbegi municipality. Hike to the snowy Mount Gergeti – (about 3 h round trip).
The Georgian-Russian border Larsi is only fourteen kilometers from Stepantsminda. Follow the road along the Tergi River through the narrow Dariali Gorge to the border. Driali church named after St. Archangels’ Michael and Gabriel is located nearby.
In the evening drive back to Gudauri.

After breakfast, relaxing morning in the hotel. 12:00 check out and return to Tbilisi.
