After breakfast at the hotel we start Tbilisi half day city tour. The first visit is one of the tallest orthodox churches in the world – Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi (Sameba). Splendid panorama of Mtatsminda mount and the city will open up from the yard of a church. Excursion will take about 30 minutes.
After Sameba let’s head to Tbilisi Historical district to the Europe square and Rike park. Ride to the Narikala Fortress by an aerial cable car. Narikala fort is situated on the opposite side of the River Mtkvari on the hill top and overlooks the central districts of Tbilisi. 3 minutes fly above the river is gorgeous feeling!
Walk around Narikala and stroll down to the old city by foot. On the way we will walk through the Botanical street near the Mosque, Sulfur Bathhouse district and pay a visit to the LegvtaKhevi canyon to see a small river and natural waterfall falling from 22 m.
After Tbilisi tour drive to Mtskheta – the former capital of Eastern Georgian kingdom Iberia and visit two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, built in the 11th c., and Jvari Monastery, built in the 6th c.
From Mtskheta continue the way to the North, along the Georgian Military road towards the mountainous region of Khevi . On the way we stop at the Zhinvali Reservoir and visit Ananuri Architectural Complex, built in the 16th 17th c.c. Ananuri stronghold consists of the fortress, two churches and residential building of Aragvi Eristavi dukes in the medieval times.
In the evening arrive to Gudauri (2196 m).
