Baia's Winery

RAW wines Tsitska-Tsolikouri and Krakhuna white dry wines produced in Winery Baia’s Wine deserve special attention.

“Exceptional”, “Excellent”, “Very Good” – the epithets are granted to the skin-fermented white wines also called “orange” or “amber” wines.

“These are a niche category that continues to grow in number and styles. They may be aged in traditional clay vessels called qvevri for a long or short period, or they may be made in more modern oak and stainless-steel vessels”.

Young lady Baia Abuladze together with her sister Gvantsa and brother on the basis of longstanding family tradition of winemaking, decided to create something special, distinguished. This young generation of Abuladze family established wine company in 2015 on their own vineyards and other agricultural lands in Obcha. Main philosophy was low-intervention and production of organic, biodynamic and natural wines. Try once, the best samples are listed below:

Tsolikouri -White dry wine, made from the Tsolikouri grape variety. The wine was produced using the traditional Georgian wine making method - grapes with skins fermented in "Qvevri" clay pots for 3 months. ABV: 13% 750 ml

Gvantsa’s Wine - Full bodied red dry wine, made from an old Otskhanuri sapere grape variety. The old traditional winemaking process consists of fermenting the grapes for 2 weeks and then keeping them in a Qvevri for 1 year. Perfectly complements meat dishes. ABV: 12.5% 750 ml

Tsitska-Tsolikouri -white dry wine - made from 70% Tsitska and 30% Tsolikouri grapes - won the Silver medal in Dusseldorf's Wine Grand Prix 2016 ABV: 12%

Tsitska-Tsolikouri- Krakhuna - white dry wine made from 3 distinct grape varieties (20% Tsitska, 20% Krakhuna, 60% Tsolikouri) using the "SVIRI" method. Full bodied wine full of citrus fruit aromas.

Cha cha-Produced using ancient brewing methods, this classical spirit is made from Tsolikouri, Tsitska and Krakhuna grapes, which are cultivated in the region of Imereti. Well complements meaty and garlic dishes.ABV: 65% 750 ml

Baia’s Wines are exported to USA, Germany, Austria and France. On tour at Baia’s winery visitors are able to see the old wine cellar, traditional wine-producing equipment and the vineyards. Baia’s Winery is one of the notable cultural highlights of Baghdati for the wine lovers.
