9:00 Morning guide will meet you at your hotel lobby and pick-you up for a private tour. First drive to the Jvari Monastery to observe breathtaking panorama of the confluence of two rivers: Aragvi and Mtkvari. The masterpiece of early Christian period overlooks the ancient capital town of former kingdom of Kartli.

The area was sacred. Let’s visit unique excavations of Dzalisi, which is just in 5 minutes’ drive from Mtskheta and see the ruins of Romans’ time palace, thermal bathhouses and public swimming pool. The faded colors of floor mosaic and structure of pipes are impressive.

Lunch is arranged at nearby village Saguramo. Sevsamora is the winery, which hosts us today. Winery produce certified bio-wine fermented and stored in an underground clay Wessels – so called qvevri. Georgian traditional dishes will be served here.

After the lunch continue to drive to the pick of Zedazeni mountain – this is the highest point in the area (1200 m above sea level): Jvari Monastery, Mtskheta and the rivers are below the calm hills of Kartli.

In the evening walk cobbled streets of Mtskheta, visit the Samtavro, Svetistkhoveli and Antiokhia in the historical district.

Optional Mtkvari River cruise is available to book in advance. Drive back to Tbilisi.
