2 Day Kakheti Wine Tour takes you to Khashmi, Sighnaghi, Velistsikge, Kvareli, Telavi, Tsinandali & Shilda - the main winemaking destinations in Georgia.

We offer the best selections of wines at 6 wineries in two days: Chateau Khashmi, Tsinandali estate, Chubini Winery, Shumi Winery, Kvareli Wine Cave, .

The burning sun of Kakheti region, fertile lands and permanent use of Qvevri traditions by local farmers have developed unique viticulture, which is considered as UNESCO tentative untagable cultural heritage. Taste both, Georgian Qvevri and Classical wines.

Itinerary


Day to day

Driving distance:  212 km (3 h 35 min)

Morning pick-up from the hotel and departure to Kakheti region. Our first stop is Chateau Khashmi winery located in the village of Khashmi, Sagarejo district. Excursion and Wine tasting includes 2 kind of Wine - Rkatsiteli, Saperavi + Chacha.

Next stop is Signagi – a town overlooking the Alazani valley from the hills and surrounded by the medieval curtain walls. Take a short walk in Signagi, and afterwards drive to Velistsikhe and visit museum of Numisi.

Have a lunch in Numisi and taste red and white qvevri wines.

Trip continues to Kvareli. You are going to visit a wine cellar located in a tunnel dug out in the flank of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, and taste amazing Classic wines. The temperature in the Tunnel stays ideally at 12-14°C throughout the year. It integrates two main tunnels, which are linked by 13 galleries. The total length of the tunnels is 7.7 km.

From there, continue to Telavi – an administrative center of Kakheti. Here you are going to have a dinner at a local guesthouse with homemade qvevri wines.

Driving distance: 162 km (2 h 58 min) 

After breakfast in Telavi, continue the exploration of Kakheti. First, visit local farmers’ market, where you can make some pictures, purchase fruits, homemade wine, Georgian vodka “Chacha”, cheese and bread, and traditional sweet – “Churchkhela”.

Go to the village of Tsinandali (10 km drive) and visit the residence of the nobleman, poet and founder of the first bottling winery, Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. A tour of the house-museum and garden will take about 30 minutes. Smack a glass of the finest white wine from Tsinandali cellar - this is the first sip of wine today. 

Next wine stop is Shumi winery located in Tsinandali village, just 5 minutes’ walk from Chavchavadze’ Estate. Shumi offers small wine museum and wine garden. Here we taste 3 kinds of wines.

Lastly visit Chubini Winery in Shilda Village taste traditional Georgian wine and have a Lunch.

After lunch drive back to Tbilisi. Transfer will take about 3 hours.

In the evening, arrive to Tbilisi, drop of to the hotel.

  • 50% of the total cost of tourist product in case of tour cancellation 5 days or less prior to the tour;
  • 100% of the total cost of the tourist product due to the Tourist's failure to appear.
