Kvevri production workshop of the Kbilashvili family and winery

The Kbilashvili family's qvevri workshop and winery are nestled in the picturesque village of Vardisubani, within the Telavi municipality, just 3 km from the bustling town of Telavi, at the heart of the Kakheti region.

Renowned for their deep-rooted qvevri production traditions, the Kbilashvili family, represented by father and son duo Remi and Zaza Kbilashvili, carries on this ancient craft. They specialize in crafting qvevris—traditional Georgian clay vessels that have been integral to winemaking in the region for millennia, used for both storing and fermenting wine.

At the Kbilashvili Winery, visitors are treated to an informative tour, delving into the meticulous process of qvevri production—from clay preparation and shaping to the meticulous drying and baking stages. Additionally, guests have the opportunity to indulge in tastings of the family's exquisite Rkatsiteli and Saperavi qvevri wines, alongside the renowned Chacha—a traditional Georgian grape pomace brandy.
