Spekali Winery

The name of the brand “Spekali” is a collective word for precious gemstones in ancient Georgian. “We feel that this name draws an elegant parallel to Georgian wines, which, just like gems, can be as varied as they are valuable".

Spekali Winery is located in the village of Tokhliauri, near town Sagarejo, within the region of Kakheti, the main wine producing province of Georgia.

This small, family owned winery produces exclusive, artisan Qvevri wines from certain endogenous grape varieties best-known for Sagarejo micro-zone. Wines are fermented and aged up to six months together with the pomace inside Qvevri, tear-shaped terracotta pots that are set into the ground. This is called as Kakhetian winemaking method.

Hosts are always happy to share their experience and tell about the uniqueness of Georgian wines by offering simple tasting tours or wine combining with homemade lunch.
