Pick up from the Batumi hotel. The guide will greet you at the lobby of your hotel and lead you to the mountainous part of Adjara region.
Drive to Keda, a small townlet located at the mid reaches of the Adjaristskali river. The first wine spot is Adjarian Wine House, the prominent winery in the region, which played an important role in developing viticulture in Adjara. The Wine House produces 6 sorts of wine based on traditional technology. The tour here includes a vineyard, a factory, enotheque, and of course, wine tasting as well.
The next stop is in nature, to see Makhuntseti Waterfall fall from 50 m rocky ledge and Makhuntseti stone arch bridge (12th c, length 24 m.).
Afterward, our next wine spot is Chateau Iveri at Varjanisi village. The winery aims to revive indigenous viticulture in the region by cultivating local grape varieties and continuing vine making traditions.
Our excursion starts with visiting the vineyards and the introduction of local winemaking methods. As the main highlight at Varjanisi, we taste three glasses of Organic Wines - one white and two red (Tsolikauri, Chkhaveri, Satsuri).
After wine tasting, drive to the village Chkhutuneti at Machakhela National Park for family lunch at Ilia’s Winery. Enjoy Adjarian traditional lunch, and head back to Batumi.
Visit Batumi Wine Bar Garage - masterclass of Georgian wine and cheese tasting is arranged here. At the end of the tour, get acquainted with Georgian wine and cheese history, how to pair Georgian cuisine with its wine, and characteristics of bio-organic wine.
