Shalva Amiranashvili Fine Arts Museum

Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Arts is notable for featuring the masterpieces of the famous Georgian painters such as Niko Pirosmani, Lado Gudiashvili, David Kakabadze, Elene Akhvlediani in the permanent exhibition. The Museum is also distinguished for its Georgian goldsmith artifacts dated back to the 8th-19th Centuries. Other significant exhibits are the icon of Zarzma Monastery, the Chalice of Bedia, Anchistkhati and Khakhuli Triptychs, Processional Liturgical Crosses among others. Furthermore, there are a number of artworks from Russian, European, and Eastern countries including chased and painted icons, vitreous enamel, jewelry, textiles, and unique works of embroidery. It was established in Tbilisi in 1920 as the National Arts Gallery of Georgia. In 2004, the museum was incorporated into the Georgian National Museum complex.
