The museum is situated in the center of the city, behind the Tbilisi Concert Hall area. Mr. Ucha Japaridze, born in 1906, is one of the most prominent figures in the development of 20th-century Georgian Visual Arts; the House-Museum was established in 1988, right after his death. Most of the museum's artifacts were collected by the artist himself. The house-museum hosts artists's fine art and graphic collections, as well as memorial objects pertaining to the artist's life.
