Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Meeting and transfer from TBS airport
Short Tbilisi city tour.
In the evening you will be introduced the world of Georgian food in the restaurant and you will see folklore Show.
Overnight at the hotel in Tbilisi

Day 2: Tbilisi - Kutaisi
Barbeque day
Pass through Mtskheta - ancient capital of Georgia. Visit Jvari Monastery - 6th c.
Svetitskhoveli Cathedral: 11th c. - UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Later near Gori we will explore cave-town Uplistsikhe - temples, streets, churches, residential dwellings and storerooms carved into the soft stone of the mountainside in the 1st millennium BC.
Barbeque picnic-lunch near the site. You will try vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, prepared on fire in the nature.
Drive over Rikoti Pass, to the ancient city and former capital of Georgia Kutaisi.

Day 3: Kutaisi - Zugdidi
Cooking day
We will visit two UNESCO World heritage sights: Monastery complex and Academy of Gelati (12th c) and Bagrati Cathedral from 11th c. You will have an opportunity to observe archaeological excavations near the sight.
Wine tasting at the wine factory "Khareba".
In the evening participating in cooking local plates: vegetarian - gomi with sulguni (dish from cooked corn flour with cheese), bazhi (walnut sauce), non-vegetarian - kubdari (meat baked in a pastry), satsivi (turkey or chicken in sauce with walnuts).

Day 4: Zugdidi - Batumi
Ajarian folklore evening
Visit Dadiani palace in Zugdidi.
Drive west to Batumi, the capital of Ajara autonomous republic.

Overnight at the hotel in Batumi

Day 5: Batumi - Borjomi
Mineral water day
Visit Batumi Ethnographical Museum and Botanical Garden with plants from the whole world.
We will visit explore Gonio Fortress, where according to the legend Medea's brother was murdered.
Drive south-west to Borjomi spa. Visit Borjomi-main spring in the central park and taste mineral waters.

Day 6: Borjomi - Telavi
Wine day
Drive to picturesque and the most fertile part of Georgia - Kakheti.
Visit Gremi fortress, Alaverdi monastery.
You will visit local wine factory and have a wonderful opportunity for tasting diversity of marvelous Georgian wines.
In the evening participating in cooking local plates: non-vegetarian - khinkali, chanakhi (chunks of lamb with vegetables baked in a ceramic pot), chakapuli (lamb cubes soup with tarragon and spices generally made in spring).

Day 7: Telavi - Tbilisi
On breakfast you can taste khashi - soup of tripe and cow trotters with garlic.
Visit Telavi museum; Al. Chavchavadze house-museum.
Lunch at Marani - traditional wine-cellar.
Return to Tbilisi
Farewell dinner in traditional Georgian restaurant.

Day 8. Tbilisi
Free time
Check out from the hotel.

Some of typical Georgian traditional dishes:

Khachapuri - cheese baked in pastry. Depending on the cheese and the region, there are different types of Khachapuri - Imeruli, Megruli, Acharuli and Achma.
Pkhali - a spinach or beetroot paste with garlic and walnuts.
Lobio - green or red beans with herbs and spices and sometimes with walnuts.
Khinkali - dumplings with minced beef or pork.
Satsivi - turkey or chicken served in a walnut and garlic sauce.
Mchadi - corn bread and Gomi - corn porridge; both are eaten with cheese.
Tkemali - wildplum sauce.
Churchkhela - a Georgian sweet made of nuts threaded together and coated in grape juice and flour.
Badrijani - baby eggplants with walnut and spices.

Food

Breakfast is included in the rates of hotels in Tbilisi, as well as in Hotels and guesthouses in countryside, where dinner is also supplied.
Lunch 3 course meals, 1 bottle of mineral water, coffee or tea. Lunch menu has to be agreed additionally and adjusted to the customers' specific needs. In single cases lunch boxes will be provided for some parts where cafes and restaurants do not exist. Lunch-pack menu contains: two kinds of sandwiches, cucumber or tomato, cake and apple.
Dinner is served either at hotel restaurant / guesthouse or at one of the restaurants in Tbilisi with charming, traditional stile interior and outstanding cuisine. Dinner will include variety of Georgian traditional cuisine. The program is flexible according to special demands or remarks.
