We will travel towards Mtiuleti and Khevi provinces by one of the oldest roads in Georgia, The Georgian Military Highway and observe the high peaks, roaring rivers and mountain lifestyle of Georgian's northern borderlands.

Tour Schedule:

8:00-9:00 Departure from Tbilisi
Pass through Mtskheta - ancient capital of Georgia
Short excursion at Ananuri Fortress
Pass through ski resort Gudauri, drive over Jvari (Cross) Pass (2395m) to the town of Kazbegi (1700m) – the center of Khevi province.
If we are lucky with weather we will see Mount Kazbek, 5047 m. the third highest and one of the best known peaks in the Caucasus. According to the legend Amirani – Georgian Prometheus was chained here by Gods.
19:00 Return to Tbilisi

Sites to visit:

Ananuri 16th -17th cc fortress and church. The complex comprises fortification, 3 churches and other cult and civic buildings.
Dariali Canyon
Gergety Trinity Church – the most important altar of 14th century, located on the slope of Mount Kazbek. The stone decorations represented on the façade of the church will lead you to the ancient rituals and beliefs.
