Day by day itinerary Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi, transfer to the hotel Day 2: Tbilisi - Sadakhlo Border - Alaverdi - Sevan - Yerevan After enjoying the breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to the Georgian-Armenian border in Sadakhlo. There you will change the transport and guide. We will help you to complete the border formalities and you will continue the trip to Armenia. We will drive towards Lori region and explore the Haghpat monastic complex 10-13th c. Later we will visit the Sevan monastery 9th c. on the peninsula of the Lake Sevan, where we will have a dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 3: Yerevan - Garni - Geghard - Yerevan Breakfast at the hotel. We will drive to Yerevan and explore the museum of a famous Armenian filmmaker - Sergei Parajanov. Later we will visit the Depository and Institute of Medieval Manuscripts - Matenadaran and drive to Kotayk region. On our way, we will stop near Charents Arch to enjoy a splendid view of a Biblical Mount Ararat. Continuing our trip, we will visit Garni pagan temple AD and walk in the canyon of the Azat River. Later we will explore the Geghard monastery 4-13th cc hewn in the rock, then drive back to Yerevan and enjoy the dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at Yerevan hotel. Day 4: Yerevan - Amberd - Gyumri Breakfast at the hotel In the morning, we will drive towards Aragatz region. There we will visit The Amberd fortress 11-17th c, enjoy a spectacular view of Mt. Aragaz and drive towards Gyumri. After exploring the Caravan Saray 10th c we will tour the city of Gyumri and overnight at the local hotel. Day 5: Gyumri - Bavra Border - Vardzia - Bakuriani After Breakfast check out from the hotel and head towards Armenian-Georgian Border. There you will change the transport and guide and continue your trip to visit the Vardzia cave city 12-16th cc and the Khertvisi fortress 10-16th cc. Picnic lunch. Later you will drive to Bakuriani ski resort. Dinner and overnight at the Bakuriani hotel Day 6: Bakuriani- Borjomi - Kutaisi Breakfast at the hotel In the morning we will explore the Borjomi national park and mineral springs resort. Then we will drive to West Georgia - to the famous Land of the Golden Fleece where Jason and the Argonauts sailed. We will arrive in Kutaisi - the second largest city in the country and visit its historical sights - Gelati Monastery and Academy 12th c and the splendid Bagrati Cathedral ruins 11th c, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Overnight and dinner in Kutaisi hotel. Day 7: Kutaisi - Gori - Uplizikhe - Tbilisi Breakfast at the hotel In the morning we will explore local Kutaisi market and drive East to Gori, where Soviet dictator J. Stalin was born. We will continue our trip to Uplistsikhe Cave Town 1st millennium BC - one of the main strategic points along the Great Silk Road. Later we will drive to Mtskheta to travel around the ancient capital and religious centre of Georgia. We will visit Jvari Monastery 6thc and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral 11th c - both UNESCO World Heritage sites and drive to Tbilisi. Overnight at the hotel. Day 8: Tbilisi - Departure The last morning of your trip will start with a breakfast at the hotel and will be followed with Tbilisi sightseeing program - the Old and New Towns. The city offers a great variety of sights, most of them very ancient. All the places of interest in the Old Town are very close to each other, within a few minutes walk. We start our visit to Old Tbilisi from Metekhi Church 13th c, then walk to the brick-domed Sulfur Baths. From the Baths, we head up the hill to visit Narikala Fortress 4th c - one of the oldest fortifications in the city, dominating over the landscape. Afterwards we continue to the Synagogue, Sioni Cathedral 6th -7th c and Anchiskhati Church 6th c. This marks the end of the Old Town. Later we take a walk along Rustaveli Avenue - the main street in Tbilisi and explore Dry Bridge souvenir market, and flea market. Lunch in the old city at traditional Georgian restaurant. In the evening check out from the hotel, Transfer to TBS airport for departure.
