Day by day itinerary Day 1: Arrival. Transfer to the hotel. Full day city tour, visit Old and new districts, Old Synagogue; Museum of Archaeology, Narikala Fortress (4th century); Sulfur bathes; Metekhi church (13th century); Anchiskhati basilica (6th century); Rustaveli Avenue, Funicular, Art Museum. Ethnographical museum. Dinner and overnight in Tbilisi Day 2: Tbilisi- Mtskheta-Gori- Bakuriani After breakfast we will drive to Mtskheta, capital and religion center of East Georgian kingdom from 4th c. B.C. to 5th c. A.D., visit Jvari monastery 6th c. and Svetitskhoveli cathedral 11th c., included in UNESCO. After lunch we'll drive to Gori, city where Stalin was born; visit Stalin's house-museum. Then we will visit temple town Uplistsikhe 12 km from Gori. Then drive to the spa-city Borjomi, where we will taste the famous Borjomi mineral waters. Short walk in Borjomi-Kharagauli National park. Evening drive to ski resort Bakuriani Dinner and overnight in Bakuriani Day 3: Bakuriani-Vardzia-Bakuriani After breakfast at the hotel we'll drive to Meskheti region. Visit Khertvisi fortress of 10th c. on the route and arrive in Vardzia - cave city and monastery complex of 12th c. Picnic lunch in Vardzia. Visit town - fortress, which in 13th c. became well defended monastery complex. The frescoes of 12th c are still well preserved; Here you will find one of the images of King Tamara - the first woman who ascended to throne in feudal Georgia; Later we will return to Borjomi, explore Borjomi national park, taste mineral waters and drive back to Bakuriani. Dinner and overnight in Bakuriani Day 4: Bakuriani-Zekari pass-Kutaisi After breakfast in the hotel we'll drive over Zekari Pass to the ancient city and former capital of Western Georgia Kutaisi. We will visit two UNESCO World heritage sights: Monastery complex and Academy of Gelati (12th c) and Bagrati Cathedral from 11th c. You will have an opportunity to observe archeological excavations near the sight. Dinner and overnight in Kutaisi Day 5: Kutaisi-Racha After breakfast we'll travel towards one of the most beautiful regions of Georgia - Racha region, famous for resorts. Passing Ambrolauri - regional canter, we'll taste local wines in wine factory. We'll pass mountain lake Kheli. We'll visit king's residence in Barakoni and Nikortsminda Cathedral, excellent example of religious architecture with ornaments. Overnight in regional center Oni Day 6: Shovi After breakfast we'll drive to famous Spa resort Shovi and have a walk in nature. We'll go also to village Khvanchkara, famous for its exclusive wine of the same name, which grows only here. Overnight in Shovi Day 7: Shovi-Kutaisi After breakfast we'll drive to Kutaisi. We'll assist there at Folklore show during farewell dinner. Dinner and overnight in Kutaisi Day 8: Kutaisi-Tbilisi After breakfast, we will drive to Tbilisi.
