Day by day itinerary Day 1: Meeting and transfer from TBS airport Short Tbilisi city tour Overnight in Tbilisi Day 2: Tbilisi - Borjomi Breakfast at the hotel Pass through Mtskheta - ancient capital of Georgia. Drive south-west to Borjomi spa. Visit Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park and taste mineral waters. Dinner and overnight in Bakuriani Day 3: Borjomi - Vardzia - Bakuriani Breakfast at the hotel Drive to Vardzia. Visit Khertvisi fortress of 10th c. on the route and arrive in Vardzia - cave city and monastery complex of 12th c. 13.00 - picnic lunch in Vardzia. In 13th c. Vardzia became well defended monastery complex. The frescoes of 12th c are still well preserved; Here you will find one of the images of King Tamar - the first woman who ascended to throne in feudal Georgia; Later we will return to Borjomi, explore Borjomi national park, taste mineral waters and drive to Bakuriani. Dinner and overnight in Bakuriani. Day 4: Bakuriani - Kutaisi Breakfast in the hotel Drive over Rikoti Pass, to the ancient city and former capital of Georgia Kutaisi. We will visit two UNESCO World heritage sights: Monastery complex and Academy of Gelati (12th c) and Bagrati Cathedral from 11th c. You will have an opportunity to observe archaeological excavations near the sight. Overnight in Kutaisi Day 5: Kutaisi - Batumi Breakfast at the hotel Drive west to Batumi, the capital of Adjara autonomous republic. We will visit Gonio Fortress, where according to the legend Medea's brother was murdered. Later we will visit Batumi Ethnographical Museum and unique Botanical Garden. Overnight in Batumi. Day 6: Batumi - Gori - Uplistsikhe - Tbilisi Breakfast in the hotel Drive east to the Capital Tbilisi. We will pass through the city of Gori and have an excursion at J. Stalin's house-museum. Later we will explore cave-town Uplistsikhe - entire town with streets, churches, palaces, residential dwellings and storerooms carved into the soft rock of the mountainside in the 1st millennium BC. Arrive in Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi Day 7: Tbilisi - Tsinandali - Telavi Breakfast at the hotel Drive to picturesque and the most fertile part of Georgia - Kakheti. You will visit wine factory in Tsinandali and have a wonderful opportunity for tasting tremendous Georgian wines. Explore Telavi museum. Dinner and overnight in Telavi. Day 8: Telavi - David Gareji - Tbilisi Breakfast at the hotel Drive to semi desert to explore David Gareji monastery complex and caves. The classic short walk will take us through an abundance of sandstone colors and extraordinary medieval frescoes. Picnic lunch near the sight Return to Tbilisi Farewell dinner in traditional Georgian restaurant. Check out from the hotel.
