    Overnight in Tbilisi hotel.

  • Day 2 TBILISI-MLETA-KHADA GORGE-GUDAURI

Driving distance: 140 km; total trekking duration: 5 hours

Have breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the Northern Georgia and explore Mtiuleti province, literally translated as "the land of mountains” Mtiuleti is a historical region in Eastern Georgia and comprises Southern slope of the Greater Caucasus Mountains and the White Aragvi River Valley.

En-route you’ll pass through the townlet Pasanauri.  Start walking tour to the first destination, Lomisa Chapel located on the hilltop (2 hours trekking uphill); Lomisa chapel has long been one of the sacred places for Georgian people. The 11th c church is named after the St. George and it was built in XI c.

Continue trekking to Khada gorge (3 hours easy trekking) where beautiful nature is surrounded by green mountains and pure river flowing by. Afterwards drive towards Gudauri ski resort (2196 m.)

Have dinner and overnight at Gudauri hotel

  • Day 3 GUDAURI-TRUSO-KAZBEGI

Driving distance: 50 km; total trekking duration: 5 hours

Have breakfast at the hotel. Today you’ll enjoy the full day walking in Truso gorge.

Truso gorge is located on the Northern slope of the Caucasus, at the beginning of the Tergi River bed. Length of this gorge is 25 km (5 hours easy walking), takes you to the origin in Truso pass and ends at a village Kobi (2000 m). The gorge is in an alpine zone, where factually there are no trees.  This is why it is so picturesque and unique in its geological structure – the travertine valley with hydro carbonate mineral springs and “boiling” lake. Despite the severe climate, the remains of old structures – churches, towers and fortresses, are still preserved in some of the villages of Truso gorge.

Truso is also rich of mineral waters which influences on the coloring of the river Tergi banks. We will also see a small carbonated .

Dinner and overnight in Kazbegi guesthouse.

  • Day 4 KAZBEGI-GERGETI-GWELETI-TBILISI

Driving distance: 200 km; total trekking duration: 4 hours

Have breakfast at the guesthouse. If you are lucky and the weather is nice you’ll be able to see the amazing sunrise at the highest peak of Eastern Georgia, Kazbegi Mountain (5033 m).

Start easy trekking (5 km one way)towards Gergeti trinity church 14th c. (elevation 2170 m.) passing through the little settlements of Gergeti village. At the top of the path you’ll find yourself in the wide-open field surrounded by high rocks that makes the old chapel of Trinity best visible. Continue to Dariali gorge literally translated as “iron gate”. Dariali is creating border between Georgia and Northern Ossethia. En-route, make a turn to the direction of Gveleti waterfalls – the homeland of mountain eagles, slender and tall rocks. After 20 minutes’ walk you’ll reach a small waterfall hiding among huge rocks. Trek to the large waterfall (20 minutes more difficult walk).

In the evening drive back to Tbilisi for overnight.
