The wine tour takes you to Kakheti, the main wine-making region of Georgia. Kakheti is known as a birthplace of viticulture and winemaking. The burning sun of this region, fertile lands, valleys and hard work of Georgian farmers have developed about 500 varieties of vine in Georgia.
The history, culture and lifestyle of Georgians are embodied in their wine, which stands as a symbol of the hospitality, friendship and tolerance. It is widely believed that wine production in Georgia first began, over 7000 years. These days there are over 500 species of grape in Georgia, a greater diversity than anywhere else in the world, with around 40 of these grape varieties being used in commercial wine production.

Day to day itinerary
DAY 1: TBILISI
Arrival in Tbilisi. Transfer from Tblisi airport to the city for sightseeing tour.
Founded in the 5th c. AD on the site of its hot mineral-water springs, Tbilisi developed into an important cultural center of the Caucasus region. The Old Town is the most attractive part of the city, notable for its wonderful mix of cultures. Here, the mosque, the synagogue, the Armenian and Roman Catholic Churches link harmoniously with Georgian Orthodox churches and architecture.
You will combine walking and driving in old and new districts of Tbilisi, visiting outstanding landmarks of the capital city accompanied by a guide and driver.
Start the day with excursion at Holy Trinity Cathedral - the main Georgian Christian Orthodox cathedral. It is the largest religious building not only in Georgia but in the region of South Caucasus, and is listed among the largest Orthodox churches in the world.
Continue to Metekhi plateau and church which dates back to 13th c. The church stands on the cliff overlooking the old district of Tbilisi and Mtkvari River.
Ride up to Narikhala Fortress dated from 4th c. by the aerial cable car and admire the views of the city from the top. Stroll down from Narikhala to Legvtakhevi area and Bathhouse district. Enjoy a walk on Meidan Sqaure and surrounding areas, where you can shop for souvenirs.
In the middle of the day you'll have a lunch at the local Georgian restaurant with traditional dishes.
After lunch visit Georgian National Museum and Golden Treasury which contains thousands of Georgian and Caucasian archaeological artifacts.
Take a funicular train to Mtatsminda Mountain at the altitude of 729 meters above sea level.
After a relaxing walk in Mtatsminda park drive back to the City.
Welcome dinner with glass of wine at Georgian traditional restaurant.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 2: TBILISI – SIGNAGI – VELISTSIKHE – KVARELI – TELAVI
Pick up from the hotel and departure to Kakheti region. Our first stop is Signagi – a town surrounded by 18th c. city wall with 23 defensive fortifications. Visit local wine cellar to taste elegantly traditional Kvevri wines at Peasant’s Tears. Take short walk in Signagi, afterwards drive to Velistsikhe and see local wine cellar and museum of Numisi, the oldest wine cellar in Kakheti, dated back to 16th c.
Lunch in Numisi with red and white Kvevri wines.
Continue to Kvareli and visit a wine cellar located in a tunnel dug out of the flank of Caucasus Mountains and taste amazing European wines. The temperature in the Tunnel stays ideally at 12-14 degrees throughout the year. It consists of two main tunnels, which are linked by 13 galleries. The total length of the tunnels is 7.7 km. The wine cellar is also used to store Winery Khareba wines.
Dinner and Overnight in Telavi.
DAY 3: TELAVI – TSINANDALI – GREMI – NAPAREULI – TELAVI
After breakfast continue exploration of Kakheti. First visit of Tsinandali village and visit the residence of the 19th c. Kakheti nobleman, poet and public figure, Alexander Chavchavadze. Take an excursion in house-museum accompanied with a glass of finest Tsinandali cellar white wine. Telavi farmer’s bazaar where you can buy local fruits, homemade wine and Georgian vodka “Chacha”, cheese and bread, Georgian sweets “Churchkhela” and etc…
Drive to Gremi Royal Residence and Castle dating back to 16th c. This architectural monument is the only surviving part of once flourishing town of Gremi – the capital of Kakheti Kingdom during 16-17th cc.
Drive to Napareuli village, where Twin’s Wine Cellar and Museum is located. In front of the wine museum, there is placed a two-storied decorative Kvevri and visitors can walk inside it. The museum shows the process of Georgian traditional wine-making procedure step-by-step.
Lunch in Twin’s Wine Cellar in a comfortable retro-style restaurant with 3 types of Kvevri wines.
Dinner and Overnight in Telavi
DAY 4: TELAVI - TBILISI
After breakfast drive back to Tbilisi via Gombori pass. Visit JSC Sarajishvili Wine Brandy & Alcohol Factory in Tbilisi. We will take part in the 19th century Wine Brandy degustation which is still made out, with an opportunity to buy a bottle from the old collection at the factory.
Free time in Tbilisi.
Gala dinner with folk performance at Georgian traditional restaurant.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 5: TBILISI -Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Tbilisi Airport
