Day to day itinerary
Day 1: ARRIVAL IN BATUMI
Meet the Georgian guide at the Batumi International Airport. Drive to Batumi.
Overnight in Batumi.
Day 2: BATUMI-ZUGDIDI-MESTIA
After breakfast at the hotel start Batumi sightseeing tour: visit Piazza square, Batumi Nobel Museum, Statues of Jason & Medea, old and new boulevard of Batumi. Afterwards start driving to the north. First stop is Zugdidi, administrative center of Samegrelo region. Excursion at Dadiani Palace - Samegrelo duke’s residence. Dadiani Palaces History and Architecture Museum houses some important exhibits of natural cultural heritage of Georgia.
Continue our way to Mestia - the center of Svaneti region. Mestia was an important center of Georgian culture for centuries and contains a number of medieval monuments - churches and forts.
Overnight at Mestia.
Day 3: MESTIA-USHGULI-MESTIA
After breakfast at the hotel explore the Svaneti region. Drive up to Ushguli – the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe – on 4x4 jeeps. The whole village with its Svan defensive towers has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The way to the village is extremely attractive. En route we cross villages Ipari and Kala, where the spirit of medieval life is still strong. Take a short walk towards Shkhara Glacier - the highest of peaks in Georgia (5193 m. above sea level).
In the evening drive back to Mestia for overnight.
Day 4: MESTIA-NOKALAKEVI-KUTAISI
Breakfast at the hotel. First visit Svan Tower and Museum belonging to Margiani family in Mestia.
Drive to the ruins of Nokalakevi fortress. The site was also known as Archaeopolis to early Byzantine historians. The fortress played an important role in wars between Byzantines and Sasanians during 6th century AD. Archaeological excavations have uncovered gold and silver jewelry from Hellenistic Era, hoard of gold coins of the Byzantine Emperor Mauricius (6th c. AD), and many other artifacts most of which are now preserved in Georgian National Museum.
Drive to Kutaisi, which according to the sources was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Colchis in second millennium BC. Historians believe that Argounauts considered Kutaisi as their final destination in their journey for Golden Fleece and the residence of King Aeëtes.
Kutaisi also contains 2 of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Georgia - Bagrati Cathedral of 11th c., located in on the top of the hill and overlooking the city and Gelati Monastery and Academy of 12th c., where one of the most prominent Kings of Georgia – David the Builder – is buried. Visit both sites and afterwards have a walk in Kutaisi farmers’ market, where you can find organic fruit, vegetables and famous Imeretian cheese.

Day 5: KUTAISI-BORJOMI-AKHALTSIKHE
After breakfast at the hotel drive to spa-town Borjomi and visit the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, where we can taste famous mineral spring water. Continue to Akhaltsikhe. Visit Rabati complex dating back to 14thcentury. Apart from two main buildings that display permanent exhibitions, the complex also includes a castle that surrounds it, administrative building, Mosque built in 1752 and ruins of a Medresa (Islamic school).
Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.
Day 6: AKHALTSIKHE-VARDZIA-TBILISI
Breakfast at the hotel. Continue the full day exploration of Javakheti region. Drive along the Mtkvari river and stop by Khertvisi fortress, which first was built in 2nd c. BC. Continue to the Varzdia cave city dating back to 12th c. and enjoy sightseeing in its secret tunnels, internal corridors and painted chapels. Drive to Tbilisi across the beautiful lakes: Sagamo, Paravani and Tsalka.

Day 7: TBILISI FULL DAY CITY TOUR
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet the guide in the hotel lobby. Start Tbilisi City Tour: visit all the main attractions of the city. Start from the Holy Trinity Cathedral (“Sameba”) built in 21st c. and being the main Christian Orthodox cathedral in Georgia. Continue to Metekhi Church of 13th c. located by the bank of Mtkvari river. Ride up to Narikala Fortress by aerial cable car. Narikala fortress dates back to 4th century AD, it has a superb location with magnificent panoramic views over the Tbilisi city. Stroll down to Legvtakhevi (translated literally as “Fig Ravine”) – a beautiful place with waterfall, blooming plants and a small river. Take a walk in park near Sulfur bathhouses, well-known for their healing powers, Shardeni street and its neighborhood and Meidan square with its outdoor cafes, galleries and souvenir shops. Cross the Bridge of Peace – a modern glass bridge in high-tech style. Free time on Rustaveli Avenue, where you can buy the souvenirs and handicraft.

Day 8: TBILISI-BATUMI-DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Batumi. Departure from Batumi Airport.
