Start the exploration of Georgia from Kutaisi city and visit all the main attractions of Imereti area. Discover South Georgia with its ancient fortresses and caves. Drive to the Northern region for authentic experience; observe the high peaks of Caucasus Mountains and the lifestyle of northern people. Visit caves of Uplistskhe town, one of the oldest settlements in Georgia and Gori town.

Day to day itinerary
Day 1: ARRIVAL IN KUTAISI
Arrival in Kutaisi Airport –the second largest city in Georgia. Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Kutaisi.
Day 2: KUTAISI-BORJOMI-AKHALTSIKHE
Breakfast in the hotel; Drive to Borjomi spa-town. Borjomi is famous for its mineral waters with healing powers. Take a walk in the Borjomi-Kharagauli National park and taste mineral waters coming right from the springs.
After continue the trip to Akhaltsikhe, a small historical town, to visit renewed Rabat fortress. Samtskhe-Javakheti History Museum is located inside the fortress with over 25 000 artifacts preserved inside. The collection includes manuscripts, archaeological, numismatic and ethnographic items and etc.
Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.
Day 3: AKHALTSIKHE-VARDZIA-TBILISI
After breakfast at the hotel continue the exploration of the region. Follow the route along Mtkvari River and stop by Khertvisi fortress of 10th c. is one of the oldest fortresses in Georgia and was functional throughout the Georgian feudal period.
Continue to Vardzia - cave city and monastery complex of 12th c, which became well defended monastery complex in 13th c. The frescoes of 12th c are still preserved in the caves. One of them depicts King Tamara - the first woman who ascended to throne in feudal Georgia.
After excursion in Vardzia drive back to Tbilisi across the beautiful lakes: Tsalka, Paravani and Sagamo.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 4: TBILISI-MTSKHETA-ANANURI-GUDAURI
After breakfast at the hotel start driving to High Caucasus mountains. Visit Mtskheta town en route with UNESCO World Heritage Sites – Jvari Monastery 6th century and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral 11th century.
Visit Ananuri fortress of 14-17th c., once the seat of Aragvi Eristavi (Duke of Aragvi). The fortress remained in use until the beginning of the 19thcentury. In 2007, the complex has been on the tentative list for inclusion into the UNESCO World Heritage Site program.
Arrive in Gudauri ski-resort located at 2196 m. above sea level.
Overnight in Gudauri.
Day 5: GUDAURI-KAZBEGI-GUDAURI
After breakfast at the hotel drive to Stepantsminda - the center of Khevi region. We will reach 2395 m level on the Cross Pass. En route we’ll make several stop to taste mineral waters and observe waterfalls and snowy peaks of beautiful mountains.
Walk up to Gergeti Mountain, where Gergeti Holy Trinity Church of 14th c stands at the elevation of 2120 meters above sea level under the beautiful peak of Kazbegi glacier (5033 m.)
After excursion in Gergeti, drive to Dariali gorge near the Georgian-Russian border. Take a walk in Gveleti to see the waterfalls and enjoy the untouched nature.
Drive back to Gudauri for overnight.
Day 6: GUDAURI-TBILISI
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Tbilisi. Start Tbilisi City Tour: visit all the main attractions of the city. Start from the Holy Trinity Cathedral (“Sameba”) built in 21st c. and being the main Christian Orthodox cathedral in Georgia. Continue to Metekhi Church of 13th c. located by the bank of Mtkvari river. Ride up to Narikala Fortress by aerial cable car. Narikala fortress dates back to 4th century AD, it has a superb location with magnificent panoramic views over the Tbilisi city. Stroll down to Legvtakhevi (translated literally as “Fig Ravine”) – a beautiful place with waterfall, blooming plants and a small river. Take a walk in park near Sulfur bathhouses, well-known for their healing powers are located nearby, Shardeni street and its neighborhood and Meidan square with its outdoor cafes, galleries and souvenir shops. Cross the Bridge of Peace – a modern glass bridge in high-tech style. Free time on Rustaveli Avenue, where you can buy the souvenirs and handicraft.

Day 7: TBILISI-GORI-UPLISTSIKHE-KUTAISI
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the town of Gori - the center of the Kartli region. Soviet leader Stalin was born in Gori and spent his first few years here. Nowadays, his house functions as a museum presenting Stalin’s personal items.
Drive to Uplistskhe cave site dating back to 1st millennium BC, located some 12 km away from Gori.
After exploration of the caves, we will return to the West via Rikoti pass - the land of the Golden Fleece.
We can make several stops on our way: there are local farmers’ markets on the driveway, selling honey, mushrooms and fruits. Arrive in Kutaisi. Have full day exploration of the city and its surroundings: Visit two UNESCO world heritage sites: Bagrati cathedral 11th c, located in Kutaisi city center on top of the hill and Gelati Academy and monastery 12th c with beautiful mosaics inside.
Overnight at Kutaisi.
Day 8: KUTAISI-DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Kutaisi Airport. Departure.
