Day to day itinerary
DAY 1: Arrival In Tbilisi
Meet at the airport. Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 2: Tbilisi-Mtskheta- Gori-Uplistsikhe-Kutaisi
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Mtskheta-the former capital of the Eastern Georgia (3rd c. BC-5th c. AD.) visit the UNESCO historical monuments – Jvari Monastery of 6th c. and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral of 11th c.
Continue to Gori-the birth place of the Soviet dictator J. Stalin. The museum consists of the dictator’s personal train carriage, museum building and a small house where he was born. Next explore the antique Uplistsikhe caves, which date back to 1st millennium BC.
Drive to Kutaisi via Rikoti pass. Visit pottery and farmers’ market on the way. While arrival in Kutaisi sightseeings of Gelati Academy and Monastery (12th c.) and Bagrati Cathedral (11th c.) – both included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.
Overnight in Kutaisi.
DAY 3: Kutaisi-Tskaltubo Caves-Martvili Canyon-Kutaisi
Breakfast at the hotel. Explore Prometheus Grotto-one of the most popular and largest caves with various types of stalactites, stalagmites, underground rivers, waterfalls, cave pearls, and lakes.
Continue to the unique natural attractions of Georgia-Martvili Canyon. Over millions of years, Abasha river has created magnificent gorge in limestone rocks, reaching a depth of 40 meters, with canyons, caves and waterfalls. The total length of the canyon is one kilometer available to reach. You will take a boat trip and reach the very beginning with 7 meter high powerful waterfall.
Drive back to Kutaisi for overnight.
DAY 4: Kutaisi-Zugdidi-Enguri Dam-Mestia
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Svaneti Region. Make few stops en-route, until you arrive in Zugdidi – administrative center of Samegrelo region, visit Dadiani Palace and History Museum. The building once served as the residence of Mingrelian Kings and Queens. Nowadays it presents archaeological findings from ancient city of Nokalakevi and includes botanical garden and court church.
Continue driving up to the Caucasus Mountains and stop at the Enguri Dam to enjoy the views of mountains. The Enguri Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Enguri River in Georgia. Currently it is the world's second highest concrete arch dam with a height of 271.5 metres, located North of the town Jvari.
Overnight in Mestia.
DAY 5: Mestia-Ushguli-Mestia
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will explore Svaneti region surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains, glaciers, high peaks and roaring waterfalls. Take an excursion at 12th c. Svan dwelling belonging to Margiani family.
Next visit Svaneti Museum. The collection within includes unique icons, manuscripts from the 4-6th cc and ethnographic artifacts associated with Svanetian people.
Continue to Hatsvali ski station. Take a ride on ski lift and enjoy the views of surrounding nature and mountains.
Overnight in Mestia.
Optional tour available from May to October: Drive on 4 x 4 vehicle to the Ushguli village – the highest continuously inhabited places in Europe, included in the UNESCO World Heritage. The road to Ushguli goes through the villages Ipari and Kala. Local small churches located on the way, contain beautiful frescos and murals.Walk towards Shkahra Glacier-the highest mountain in Georgia 5068 m. In the evening come back to Mestia.
DAY 6: Mestia-Batumi Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Batumi – the capital of Adjara – located on the Black Sea shore. Start Batumi City Tour: Piazza square & statues of Jason & Medea, hear the full story from the guide with thorough details about the Golden Fleece, on the seaside visit famous sculptures of Ali and Nino by Tamara Kvesitadze-very beautiful monuments which are moving all time long.
Leisure time on the Batumi Boulevard, enjoy the lights of dancing fountains in the evening.

DAY 7: Batumi-Botanical Garden-Gonio Fortess-Batumi
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the Green Cape, where Batumi Botanical Garden is located. The garden is unique for its combinations of species from completely different climatic zones. Have a walk in the garden and enjoy the views on Black Sea shores.
Continue to the Gonio Fortress – an archaeological site dating from 1st c. AD. Many legends are connected to Gonio and one of them assumes that the grave of St. Matthias – one of 12 apostles of Jesus Christ – is located here.
Evening return to Batumi for overnight.
DAY 8: Batumi-Borjomi-Akhaltsikhe
Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to the Borjomi spa-resort, enjoy a walk in the Borjomi National Park where you can taste bubbling mineral waters from the springs. Mineral waters of Borjomi have been famous since 19th c. and are exported through the world. Continue to historical town-Akhaltsikhe, the former seat of Samtskhe dukes during 12th-13th cc.
Overnight in Akhaltsikhe hotel.
DAY 9: Akhaltsikhe-Vardzia Caves-Akhaltsikhe
Breakfast at the hotel; Morning visit of Rabati Complex, which comprises a castle of 14th c., several churches, a mosque and a museum. The museum presents old printed books, manuscripts, archaeological and numismatic collections, photographic collections, etc.
Continue exploration of Samtskhe- Javakheti, drive to Vardzia cave town along Mtkvari river. Arrive in Vardzia – an ancient rock-hewn cave city established in the 12th c. The caves’ complex contains one of the famous frescos of Queen Tamara –first woman ascended to the throne in feudal Georgia.
Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.
DAY 10: Akhaltsikhe-Evening Tbilisi Sightseeing
Breakfast at the hotel; Drive to Tbilisi.
Start Evening Tbilisi Sightseeing. Visit the main Christian Orthodox cathedral in Georgia-Holy Trinity Cathedral (“Sameba”), ride up to the Narikala Fortress (4th century AD) by the aerial cable car, to admire the magnificent panoramic views over the Tbilisi city. Stroll down the Legvtakhevi-a pretty place with a waterfall and a small river. Take a walk in park near Sulfur bathhouses, famous for their healing powers.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 11: Tbilisi City Tour-Part 2
Breakfast at the hotel. Start the 2nd part of Tbilisi City Tour: go up on tram to Mtatsminda Hill, visit the Pantheon of writers and public figures, continue to the National Museum of Georgia. The museum collection includes artifacts of natural and human history, with animal remains, and rich ethnographic and archaeological collections beginning from Paleolithic era to Middle Ages.
Stroll down on the Rustaveli Avenue, walk along the street and see the Parliament of Georgia, Rustaveli Drama Theatre, an Opera and Ballet Theatre. Leisure time on the Shardeni street and its neighborhood, Meidan square with its outdoor cafes, souvenir shops and galleries. Cross the Bridge of Peace – a modern glass bridge in high-tech style.
In the evening you may go shopping to Tbilisi Mall- the biggest shopping center in Caucasus. Located within easy reach of the city center, Tbilisi Mall provides an exciting new family destination experience for the tourists and offers a broad range of high street and internationally famous brands. The building includes also: fruit & vegetable market, banking facilities, a multi-screen cinema and a family entertainment center.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 12: Tbilisi
After breakfast check-out from the hotel and transfer to Tbilisi International airport.
