Day by day itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from TBS airport
Day 2: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Uplistsikhe – Gori
Drive to Mtskheta – ancient capital of Georgia and visit Jvari Monastery (6th c) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th c). After 40 km on the main road, we continue on off-roads. The first 10 km we drive on a dirt road and then up the hill.
Before descending on steep rocky slope we will pass villages Dzegvi and Kavtiskhevi and arrive in the ancient cave town Uplistsikhe. The drive requires great attention and precision.

Day 3: Gori – Bakuriani
Depart for Bakuriani ski resort (1800m above sea level).
Mostly we will drive on off-roads in the picturesque pinewoods passing Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park certified by Pan Parks and little villages Kareli and Tsagveri on the way. After lunch, we travel up to forested hills to Mt. Kokhta (2100m) to enjoy superb views of the Grand Caucasus Mountains. Later we will drive through untouched nature to the village Tsikhisjvari and enjoy naturally hot Sulfur baths.

Day 4: Bakuriani – Tskhratskaro Pass – Tabatskuri Lake – Bakuriani
A scenic drive through beautiful forests and alpine meadows brings us to Tskhratskaro Pass (2454m). Then we will drive down the volcanic plateau to Tabatskuri Lake.
Return to Bakuriani.

Day 5: Bakuriani – Mt. Alevis Klde – Gudauri
Drive on the main road for two hors (100km) and then head north to real off-roads. The scenery changes from forested slopes to alpine meadows. The last 200 meters to the top, (1974m) is particularly impressive as we drive in wild flower fields with blue sky ahead of us. We enjoy splendid views of the Caucasus Mountains and delicious barbequed meat for lunch and then continue down on challenging and a bit dangerous road. At last, we are on the main Georgian Military Highway and in an hour we arrive in Gudauri.

Day 6: Gudauri – Stepantsminda – Gudauri
Travel in the Grand Caucasus mountains. The day will be full of adventures. We will visit ancient towers, beautiful little lakes and geysers, deserted villages and unique Gergeti Trinity church (14th c) perched on a hilltop (2170m). The roads are not difficult but we still have to drive carefully.
Dinner and overnight in Gudauri
Day 7: Gudauri – Ananuri – Tianeti – Tbilisi
Drive through hornbeam woods among trees on wet surface covered with leaves for about two hours, the speedometer reads only 5 km/h. We get a reward as we arrive in Tbilisi – comfortable hotel and traditional feast with Georgian wine. Tbilisi Sulfur baths with massage would be an excellent way for recovery and relaxation.

Day 8: Departure
