You should be in a good shape to experience difficult trekking in a beautiful alpine zone, 3000 meters above the sea level. We will travel to various historical provinces of Georgia: track in the canyons of Khevi, hike through remote villages of Tusheti and Khevsureti and explore semi-desert and cave town in Kakheti. 

Max elevation: 3294 m.
Trekking: 15 km per day.

Gergeti Trinity Church: round trip, max elevation 2017 m, upward climb 400 m from Stepantsminda, easy
Juta: single direction, max elevation 2800 m; upward climb 800 m from Chaukhi camp: Difficult.
Shenakho: max elevation  1950m; upward climb 350 m. Moderate.
Diklo: max elevation 2175m; upward climb 350 m: Difficult.
Borbalo pass: max elevation 3294m: Difficult.

Day 1: TBS airport – Gudauri

Arrival
Transfer from TBS airport to ski resort Gudauri in Khevi province.
Dinner and overnight at hotel in Gudauri (2000 m)

Day 2: Gudauri – Kazbegi – Juta – Chaukhi

After breakfast, drive to small town Stepantsminda with about 3 000 locals (former Kazbegi), regional centre of Khevi province. The town is situated beneath the Mt. Kazbek (5047 m)
The legend tells us how demigod Amirani, Georgian Prometeus, was punished and chained on this mountain by Gods.
Start for about an hour hike on Gergeti mount (2017 m above the sea level) and visit Gergeti Trinity church from14th c located on top of the mountain. The view is magnificent and you will observe the rivers of clouds flowing underneath.
After walking back downhill to Stepantsminda, drive to village Juta (2150 m above the sea level).
Leave transport in Juta, get equipment for hiking and camping and start trekking towards spectacular rocky site, Chaukhi pass (3842 m.), to region Khevsureti.

Day 3: Chaukhi

In Chaukhi you may enjoy an impressive view of a snowy peak Roshka (3568 m.).
Start hiking towards peak Shanidze (4456 m.)

Day 4: Juta – Lake Abudelauri

Stay all day in Chaukhi Rocky Mountains on Altitude of 3842 m.
Take a little stroll nearby the camping site.
The peaks appear as a row of a stiff, rocky fingers scratching at the end of a treeless valley.

Day 5: Abudelauri – Roshka – Shatili

Walk towards Lake Abudelauri, then continue up over the Roshka pass and down to Roshka village.
From Roshka drive on Russian jeeps to Shatili, the spectacular 9th c. stone village in the center of Khevsureti, near the Chechen border. Ancient towers remind one of the life of local people, full of endless battles.

 Day 6: Shatili – Mutso – Ardoti

From Shatili hike to village Mutso, where nobody lives now
You may observe impressive view of surrounding mountains. From there we travel to village Ardoti in Khevsureti region.

Day 7: Ardoti – Borbalo pass

Hike towards Andaki pass and peak Borbalo (3294m.).
Dinner and overnight in camps

Day 8: Borbalo pass - Shenakho

Travel to village Omalo in Tusheti region, which encompasses spectacular Tusheti National Park.  
Local people still live here according to old traditions.
We will pass along river Alazani.

Day 9: Diklo - Shenakho

From village Shenako travel to village Diklo and explore the ruins of the Old Diklo fortress.
You will walk through a pine forest, pass near ancient, well preserved watchtower and climb a fairly steep hillside to the Old Diklo fortress.

Day 10: Shenakho - Omalo 

Hike to village Omalo
Walk out of the village on the Omalo road, follow the path down and then up into Omalo

Day 11: Omalo - Alvani

Drive to Akhmeta on Russian jeeps through Abano pass (2926m.).
Dinner and overnight at guesthouse in Alvani

Day 12: Alvani - Signagi

After Alvani journey travel to Kakheti region.
Visit Alaverdi Cathedral 11th c and Ikalto Academy 12th c
Arrive in Telavi - center of Kakheti region.
After lunch visit Gremi – ancient capital of Kakheti and later drive to little town Signagi.
Dinner and overnight at hotel in Signagi

Day 13: Signagi – Gareji – Tbilisi

Travel to semi-desert Gareji to visit the cave monastery complex from 6th c.
Return to Tbilisi in the afternoon

Day 14: Tbilisi full day, Transfer

Breakfast
Enjoy your full day in Tbilisi.
Visit old Tbilisi sights and State Art Museum.
Transfer to TBS airport
